1. Creating your account

Go to outcomestar.app/signup. You’ll need your invitation code (optional), your name and email, your student’s name, grade, and birth date, and a payment card. For students aged 0–10, also have a scan or photo of the birth certificate ready (JPG, PNG, or PDF up to 8 MB) — it’s reviewed automatically to validate the birth date, stored privately, and never shown publicly.

Why a card is required

Every account is verified by a parent card payment. For children under 13 this is the FTC-recognized method of verified parental consent under COPPA. On the free plan (ages 0–10) it’s a one-time $3 age verification of the birth certificate, valid 10 years; on paid plans your membership or storage payment is the verification. Your card stays securely on file with Stripe — we never see the number.

Choosing a password

Your email is your username. Pick a passphrase of 4+ unrelated words, 12–16 characters (example: maple rocket harbor tune). Use Show to check your typing.

Confirming emails

After payment we email confirmation links to the parent (and student, if provided). Click both. Student school addresses may be held for a quick manual review — you’ll still have full portal access.

2. Signing in & passwords

Portal: outcomestar.app/portal — email + password.

Forgot password

On the sign-in screen, type your email, click Forgot password? We email a link (valid 1 hour, single use) to choose a new one. Check junk if it doesn’t arrive in 2 minutes.

Change password

Signed in → Change password at the top of the pillars page.

Locked out?

Five wrong attempts locks sign-in for 15 minutes. Resetting your password clears the lock immediately.

3. First-time setup wizard

On your first visit the wizard walks you through: WelcomeWebsite quick-start (pick a theme; you can change it anytime) → First memory. Re-run it anytime: press F12, type startTour(), Enter.

4. The Personal pillar

Open Personal from the pillars page. Sections top to bottom:

Identity documents

Upload one proof-of-age document (birth certificate, passport, or government ID). Children 10 and under get free access once age is verified. Documents are stored privately and never shown publicly.

Identity & contact

Demographics & faith

Optional. Country of birth is a dropdown. Faith fields help schools accommodate observances; share only what you want.

Press Save personal after edits — a green “Saved” confirms.

5. Addresses & verification

Start with the ZIP code — city, state, and county fill automatically (pick the county if more than one matches). Then add the street address; suggestions appear as you type — click one to fill every field.

On save, each address is verified against postal records: verified ✓ means deliverable as entered; an amber note means check the street/number. Addresses are never shown on the public site — for any family member.

6. Father & Mother profiles

Entering or changing any email (student, father, mother) automatically sends that address a confirmation email.

The pillars — every tile explained

The portal home shows tiles. Each is a pillar of the record; here is what lives under every one.

Personal

Identity documents (proof of age), Identity & contact (legal + preferred name, three phones, email, country of residence), Addresses (physical + mailing, verified), Demographics, Faith (optional), and full Father and Mother profiles. Detailed in sections 4–6 above.

Storage & Billing

Your plan, storage used, and payment method. Records are free forever; plans cover stored files only.

7. Privacy & what appears publicly

8. Your student’s website

Your site lives at app.outcomestar.app/<your-family-code> (shown in the wizard). Configure it in the wizard or the website settings: theme, sections, and languages adapt to your student’s age band — Memory Book (ages 1–5), Developmental Portfolio (6–12), Professional Launchpad (13–18). Content appears as you add records to the pillars.

9. Plans, billing & storage

Membership (per student, billed annually by age)

Student agePrice
Ages 0–10Free ($3 one-time age verification, valid 10 years)
Ages 11–13$119.99/yr
Ages 14–16$249.99/yr
Ages 17–18$399.99/yr
Ages 19+ (alumni archive)$12.99/yr

When your student’s birthday moves them into a new band, the card on file is charged for the new band seven days before the birthday, with an email either way — if payment fails, you get a week to update the card before the account pauses.

Storage (per family, billed annually)

PlanPriceStorage
IncludedFree1 GB
Keepsake$29/yr10 GB
Portfolio$79/yr50 GB
Archive$149/yr100 GB

Your record is never held hostage. Storage plans cover files (photos, video, documents). If a plan lapses, files are removed after 90 days — but every structured record stays permanently, and you can generate a report containing all stored data, free, anytime. Cancel anytime.
